Arcadia is a Fountaine Pajot catamaran built in La Rochelle, France. The model is an Astrea 42 Maestro version, meaning that the starboard hull has our bed/bath while the port hull has two cabins and heads (bathrooms) for guests.
A live-aboard boat is its own tiny floating world which means we must be our own power grid, water company, and waste disposal. To that end, we’ve outfitted the boat with a water maker, a solar system, and a generator. We’ve also got some good sailing gear including autopilot, radar, a gennaker (large headsail to increase our speed in light air), a helm enclosure for rainy days, and Garmin navigation equipment. For safety we upsized the anchor, added a fire suppression system and have all the required equipment no one wants to ever use (life raft, distress beacons, crew overboard alarms). For exploring and getting to shore when at anchor, we’ll have a motorized dingy and an inflatable kayak.
More than anything we want our new floating home to be safe, sustainable, fun, and a great place for guests.

So excited to live vicariously through your journey. Congratulations on following your dream in retirement. I know this will be a bold new adventure and much more fun, less stressful than CMH. You deserve it. Happy Sailing Vicki
